Brewer Rehab and Living Center Named Recipient of AHCA Quality Award

Brewer Rehab and Living Center’s efforts are now receiving national recognition. Brewer Rehab and Living Center is a 2006 recipient of the American Health Care Association Quality Award.

There are approximately 16,000 nursing homes in the country. Brewer Rehab and Living Center is one of 92 long-term care facilities in 28 states and the only one in Maine that earned the Step I Quality Award this year.

The AHCA Quality Award is modeled after criteria from the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, the nation’s premier recognition for quality achievement. The AHCA award recognizes commitment to a continuous quality improvement process. The facilities selected have made customer satisfaction and quality outcomes their top priority.

A ceremony for award recipients was conducted in October at the National AHCA Convention.

Brewer Rehab and Living Center Awarded Three-Year CARF Accreditation

Brewer, ME --- The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) announced that Brewer Rehabilitation and Living Center has been accredited for three years for its Brain Injury Rehabilitation Programs. The latest accreditation is the fifth consecutive three-year accreditation outcome that the international accrediting commission has awarded to Brewer Rehab.

This accreditation outcome represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization and shows the organization’s substantial conformance to the standards established by CARF. An organization receiving a three-year accreditation outcome has put itself through a rigorous peer review process and has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit that its programs and services are of the highest quality, measurable and accountable.

Congratulations, Brewer staff, for this accomplishment.
